🚀 I want to work in Special Ed. as soon as possible. Do I need to wait until I graduate? ▶

Good news! No need to wait. Students have TWO OPTIONS to get NYS Certification before you graduate.

Two pathways: Option 1: Transitional-B Certificate (received after just the first Semester) or Option 2: Internship Certificate (received the first year of the program). The choice is yours as the program starts.

🏠 Do I need to attend in person? ▶

No you do not need to attend in person. All classes are fully remote via Zoom and designed for working professionals.

🎓 What jobs can I do with this certification? ▶

You will be approved to work as:

  • An ICT co-teacher — PreK–12, any subject.
  • A SETSS or resource-room teacher — PreK–12.
  • A SEIT — preschool, ages 3–5.
  • An independent SETSS provider — “P3” cases.
  • For Early Intervention, after you graduate, you can add Birth–Grade 2 — the degree includes the 6 graduate credits in early childhood needed to apply.

👶 What if I want to work with the very youngest children (Birth – Pre-K)? ▶

After you graduate, you can add the Birth–Grade 2 certification — this master’s degree through T.E.A.M. and Adelphi includes the 6 graduate credits in early childhood needed to apply. That certification covers Early Intervention (children under 3), on top of your PreK–12 certification.
